Laremid 10 tablets
Description
Laremid An anti-diarrheal drug for emergency use.
Composition
< span style = "text-decoration: underline;"> 1 tablet contains:
- active substance: loperamide hydrochloride - 2 mg
- other ingredients the drug is: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone K-25, stearic acid
Dosage
- acute diarrhea: 2 tablets for adults and 1 tablet for children, followed by 1 tablet after each subsequent free stool. < / li>
- chronic diarrhea: pages g> the initial dose is 2 tablets daily for adults and 1 tablet daily for children. This initial dose should be adjusted until 1 to 2 normal stools are obtained daily, which is usually achieved by a maintenance dose of 1 to 6 tablets a day.
Action
The drug extends the passage of food through the digestive tract , reduces the excretion of water and electrolytes, and reduces the immediate need for defecation. The effect of the drug is to reduce the frequency and number of bowel movements.
Indications < / h4> - for the symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea,
- to reduce the number and volume of stools and increase their consistency in patients with ileal fistula.

Contraindications
- hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients,
- children under 6 years of age,
- basic treatment in conditions such as acute dysentery with fecal blood and high fever, acute phase ulcerative colitis, acute diarrhea caused by pathogenic bacteria or pseudomembranous colitis associated with the use of antibiotics. The drug should be discontinued if constipation or bloating occurs.
Adverse reactions
Like all medicines, LAREMID can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Many of the side effects associated with loperamide is common symptoms of diarrheal syndromes (discomfort and pain in the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, flatulence). Often, these symptoms are difficult to distinguish from the side effects of the drug.
Side effects associated with the use of loperamide were very rare, meaning less than 1 in 10,000 people.
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders:
Very rare: span> rash, urticaria and pruritus.
Isolated cases of angioedema, bullous rash including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, erythema multiforme, and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
General disorders and administration site conditions:
Very rare: single cases of allergic reactions, sometimes severe hypersensitivity reactions, including anaphylactic shock and anaphylaxis-like reactions.
Gastrointestinal disorders:
Very rare: abdominal pain, obstruction bowel, bloating, nausea, constipation, vomiting, dilatation of the colon, including toxic colon dilatation, flatulence and indigestion.
Renal and urinary disorders:
Very rare: isolated urinary retention.
Nervous system disorders:
Very rare: span> dizziness.
Mental disorders:
Very rare: drowsiness.
