Tribiotic ointment 10g 10 sachets
Antibacterial ointment to prevent bacterial infections from developing minor wounds, scratches and burns.
< span style = "text-decoration: underline;"> 1 g ointment contains:
active substances: 10 mg zinc bacitracin, 5 mg neomycin sulfate and 0.833 mg polymyxin B sulfate
excipient: white vaseline.
Drug should be used once to three times a day. A small amount of the drug should be applied to the affected areas of the skin. If necessary, a protective, sterile dressing may be used.
Use no more than 7 days.
Do not use in children under 12 years of age because of the risk of hearing-damaging effects of the drug.
The drug contains three antibiotics with a wide range of antibacterial activity.
Do not use the drug:
- for hypersensitivity to zinc bacitracin, neomycin sulfate, polymyxins B sulphate or any of the excipients of the drug,
- for mucous membranes
- for large areas of damaged skin,
- for deep or stab wounds, severe burns, li>
- into the eyes,
- for oozing skin lesions.
Like all medicines , it can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The drug may damage hearing, cause general hypersensitivity and local symptoms such as rash, pruritus, irritation symptoms and infections with resistant strains of bacteria or fungi (yeast). If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed above, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions
Treatment should be discontinued if there is no improvement if the symptoms worsen or if symptoms of hypersensitivity occur, including skin reactions, such as rash, pruritus, irritation symptoms and severe allergic reactions. Use of the drug on large areas of damaged skin may result in hearing loss, kidney damage, and nervous system toxicity. Particular care should be taken by people with impaired renal function or hearing impairment.
Use of other drugs:
Tell your doctor about all medicines you take recently, even those obtained without a prescription.
Concomitant use of oral neomycin may increase the risk of hypersensitivity.
Do not use this medicine at the same time with medicines that may damage the kidneys and hearing, such as strong medicines. diuretics (e.g. furosemide, ethacrynic acid), as the risk of hearing impairment up to deafness increases, even after discontinuation of the drug.
During simultaneous use of aminoglycoside antibiotics and other drugs that may damage hearing and kidneys or drugs toxic to nervous system, may add up side effects.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
Due to the lack of appropriate tests, the drug should not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding women. Ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
